Wanderings

Migration is the phenomenon of wildlife populations relocating en masse, crossing great distances from one habitat to another. The animals leave one area, spend a certain period or season in another place, and eventually return to their point of origin. Wandering and migration make up a significant element within Jewish history.
This element has been expressed both externally and internally – outwards with the formation of the ‘Wandering Jew’ character, destined to wander the earth indefinitely; inward, eternal persecution has led to a never-ending, perhaps yet unfinished search for a home. The result is wandering becoming an inseparable part of the Israeli identity.
This body of work discusses what is left – a bureaucratic collection that receives an emotional role in our local identity, acting as a souvenir and eternal reminder of this voyage.
