A Temporary Space
Questions regarding our environment, its temporality, and its either restrictive or emancipating nature have troubled humans since the dawn of mankind. The screen-based installation before you presents a collection of works created in the “moving posters” course at the Dept. of Visual Communication in Bezalel. The students were asked to design a series of animated posters, offering insight into issues such as destruction and search for a new home – while exhibiting questions regarding gender, environment and climate change, and the search for life beyond our planet. The challenge facing the designers was how to present these issues in a new fashion, and thus grant them newfound attention – to lure viewers into contemplating grave matters using color, composition, typography and motion.
