Cooperation
The artists and designers participating in this exhibition have developed new bodies of work in reaction to a collaboration between JDW and the Israel Meteorological Service. This collaboration began with a tour of the meteorological farm in Beit Dagan, where participants were introduced to the various measurement apparatus, methods and practice, as well as to the process of converting findings into information and presenting it to the public. The tour served as a kickoff for this group exhibition, which has amassed into a local meteorological farm, located in the Hansen House yard. In addition to working with the official government service, JDW has also collaborated with local independent weather service Yerushamayim – together crafting a real, live, measurement station that will appear on the Yerushamayim website. Alongside numerical data, the project will feature verbal descriptions typical to the site – a direct, practical depiction of the weather outside – in this case, regarding JDW and the measurement station placed within.
