Anemoi*

This work is centered around an anemometer, or wind measurement pole, that translates gusts of wind into motion. Rather than outputting a sequence of numerical data, the device animates the wind by manipulating a field of objects surrounding it.
‘Anemoi’ sets out to illuminate the possibility of normal, everyday phenomena serving as survey apparatus – using motion to express dynamic, living statistics, and highlighting the incongruity that resides between a mechanical tool and the organic, random nature of the wind.
