Life Raft

In times of great emergency, a life raft becomes a temporary home, a sturdy, solid center in a raging storm of uncertainty. Boarding the rafting is an act of faith, supplemented by the physical action needed to cross the emergency slide. This slide becomes the threshold between disaster and safety, a liminal move from a place doomed to end onto a raft that hopefully may save us. Coming from destruction, the raft comes to symbolize hanging on to a future of possibility.
