Bird Talk
‘Bird Talk’ is an attempt to communicate with fluttering things that fly away, to grasp onto the text that escapes through the gap between what I wanted to say and what I could not. I chat with the bird, even if it doesn’t really answer.
Who does the bird want to attract? Who does it want to keep away? Is it calling for a mate or crying out in warning? Unlike me, the bird isn’t worried about making wrong impressions. A woman studies language, studies birds, studies a song. She does not stand still, floating away. Birds, songs, study, journals, grief, essays, experimentation, a voyage, a tweet, a conversation. I am here, where are you?
This project was initially created as part of the MFA in visual communication program at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem.
